HATE IS AN EXPORT/IMPORT INDUSTRY: FIG. 1 JAFFA® ORANGE
acrylic and oil on untreated canvas
43” x 62.5”
The hate that crosses borders becomes just as literal of an import/export as the Jaffa orange. One example of this is the United States’ Police Force which travels abroad to receive training from the Israel Defense Force. The oppression, therefore, transcends borders. Hate is not territorially bound; it exists as a hegemony. Painted on an untreated canvas, the image will deteriorate over time in hopes of a diminishing hatred and lack of relevance. Through this, the object becomes performance.
